Award of Excellence

Bookmark and Share

Our very own Research Director, Paul Watson, was awarded the 2010 Premier’s Award of Excellence as part of the Rhodiola Commercialization Team (RCT).  Rhodiola rosea is an adaptogen that has been used by Russian Olympic athletes, cosmonauts, herbalists, and physicians as a natural means for boosting physical and mental performance while aiding the body’s resistance to stress-induced illness.  The RCT successfully developed a value chain for growing, processing, and distributing Rhodiola from rural Alberta (  Paul designed, implemented, and interpreted results from the weed control and many of the agronomy trials.

This team received the Gold Award for its practices within government to continuously enhance programs and services to Albertans. It completed its field to medicine cabinet work and achieved its goal of providing licensed products in the world marketplace.  ARDN is proud of the work Paul has put into this and other projects. Everyone here congratulates all the team members for their hard work and agrees with Premier Ed Stelmach when he says that the team’s work truly made a difference to Albertans.
