Save the Date! Connecting Silos: It Takes a Region Conference

Bookmark and Share

Save March 8th and 9th, 2013 on your calendar for the Connecting Silos: It Takes a Region conference.
This highly interactive conference will focus on tapping the “wisdom at our roots” to freshen our perspective of the shifting dynamics of rural Alberta, and ways for non-profits to thrive together in this new landscape.
The theme of the conference suggests that while the work of individual non-profit organizations is valuable and specific to them, it is no longer possible to operate in isolation from each other given the finite human and financial resources available. As well, some larger initiatives are beyond the capacity of any single organization and require a coordinated effort between many organizations.
The Connecting Silos conference will be of particular interest to non-profit leaders and decision-makers who would like to strengthen rural Alberta by connecting leaders, learning about each other’s success, building relationships and encouraging others to lead.
The conference is being hosted by Kneehill Area Wellness Centre. MP Kevin Sorenson presented majority funding from the New Horizons for Seniors grant program to encourage volunteerism across all generations. Conference lead organizer is Punch Jackson, former Executive Director of Libraries, Community and Voluntary Services for the Government of Alberta.
