Bookmark and Share

Presidents of Alberta’s post-secondary institutions were honoured with Diamond Jubilee medals by Premier Alison Redford on Tuesday, January 15.

“Alberta is fortunate to have such dedicated, visionary leaders in the post-secondary system. I wanted to recognize these leaders, and celebrate the work they do to help build our world-class centers of learning,” said Premier Redford.

The Premier presented the medals with Enterprise and Advanced Education Minister Stephen Khan while the presidents were in Edmonton for a meeting of Campus Alberta stakeholders.

“Campus Alberta is a great example of how the advanced education system is being innovative in meeting the needs of learners,” said Minister Khan. “I was very proud to help recognize these leaders in Alberta’s post-secondary system.”

The Diamond Jubilee Medal was created to mark the 60th anniversary of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. During the year of celebrations, 60,000 deserving Canadians are being recognized.
