Government Funding for Rural Alberta

The government is reaching out to rural Alberta.  Communities across our province are sharing over one million dollars from our government. This money was given to support rural development projects. The projects are all aimed at making the most of economic opportunities and building capacity for change.

“Many of the projects already underway have helped create stronger rural economies,” says Jack Hayden, Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development Minister, “while addressing the environmental and social needs of individual communities.

The Rural Community Adaptation Grant Program was designed to run for three years.   Now in its final year, the program is funding seven projects. This funding was created by the Government of Canada’s Community Development Trust Fund.
