Portage College Releases Pipeline Training Centre Virtual Tour

Bookmark and Share

On December 19, Portage College proudly released a brand new virtual tour of the Pipeline Training Centre Loop to be built in Boyle, Alberta. The purpose of this closed-loop project is to give prospective students and industry professionals a hands-on learning experience centred on the importance of spill prevention and pipeline safety.

“We are excited to see this project continue to gain momentum,” said Stuart Leitch, Dean of Trades and Technologies at Portage College. “The video we recently released articulates the vision we have for building this facility.”

The Pipeline Training Centre sits on 435,600 ft2 of land just outside of Boyle, and is the first facility of its kind in Canada. Portage College is a home for teaching and learning solutions utilizing combing patented simulation technologies, and boots-on-the-ground training.

“We view this loop as an integral part of the Pipeline Training Centre,” said Dr. Trent Keough, President and CEO of Portage College. “It is important for the government and members of the public to see this vision and walk through the many stages of this project.”
