Bookmark and Share

ARDN’s executive director, Dee Ann Benard, was recently elected to a three-year term as a director for the Agriculture and Food Council’s Board of Directors.

"The Agriculture and Food Council (AFC) has recently restructured and is in the process of re-positioning itself in Alberta’s agriculture industry,” Dee Ann says.  “The AFC mission to be the connector in the agriculture and food industry to improve sustainability is one that meshes well with ARDN’s similar goals in rural development.  The partnering of these two evolving service organizations will result in the sharing of information that will create synergies and efficiencies in agriculture and rural development."

AFC is a leader in Alberta’s agriculture and food industry.  It is a unique agent with a vision to enable innovation and breakthroughs in Alberta’s agriculture and food industry, achieving success and adapting to evolving global risks.  To help realize this vision, the AFC has developed various partnerships with industry and governments.  t operates a number of targeted programs and initiatives, and is increasingly viewed by industry partners as a catalyst for policy discussions on important issues and trends affecting the sector.
