Funding Opportunities

Creating Rural Connections

Through Collaboration

The ARDN currently has a number of funding opportunities available.  Our objective is to promote networking among the post-secondary institutions (PSIs) and between communities and the PSIs.  This funding is only available to ARDN members.  Please contact us and we will connect you with suitable researchers. Categories are as follows:

Networking Funding (Grants ≤ $10,000):  In order to foster networking opportunities and enhance rural development knowledge exchange, the Alberta Rural Development Network (ARDN) is offering financial and other non-financial assistance to member post-secondary institutions for hosting rural development related meetings and events.  Please click on the links to access the application and reporting forms.

The project should have a plan for plain-language dissemination of results.  ARDN will, in general, be a funding partner in projects.  Please click on the link to access the application. The first round of funding is closed. We will start accepting applications for the second round on September 1,2010.
The application deadline is October 31, 2010.
Applicants will be notified about the funding decisions by November 30, 2010.

Research Funding (Grants > $10,000):  The current round is now closed. Another round for members who did not have a chance to apply will begin soon. Rural communities must be included in project development and implementation.  Preference will be given to projects that clearly demonstrate collaboration with other post-secondary institutions and rural communities.  ARDN will, in general, be a funding partner in projects. Please check back again soon for the new application form.
