Description: This will benefit rural Alberta by exploring and verifying how green technologies can work together to prolong the growing season in greenhouse systems

Project:  Investigating Rural Senior Undergraduate Students

Description: This project will investigate whether or not senior undergraduates intend to go back to their rural communities to use their education and training to become engaged in these communities and make positive contributions

Project: Recovering the Past – Discovering Heritage Tourism
Institution: University of Alberta – Augustana Campus
Principal Investigator: Jeremy Mouat
Description: This project will research the dinosaur bone collection expeditions that first brought the attention of the world’s scientific community to the Boomtown Trail region. It will also convert the knowledge gained into heritage tourism assets

Project: Revitalization of Rural Alberta Businesses: Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) Program
Institution: Mount Royal University
Principal Investigator: Kalinga Jagoda
Description: This is a community-based economic strategy with a focus on nurturing and supporting businesses already in the community. This project is in the form of a two day workshop which includes sessions providing individual assistance, and training that has positive long term effect on rural Alberta

Project: Supporting Early Literacy Activities – A Community Approach

Description: This project intends to pilot and implement early literacy strategies to support the parent population and daycare/playschool communities in immersing young children into literature rich environments

Project: Supporting Grouard’s Historical Interpretive Potential

Description: This project will build an interpretive centre from the rich history of the community of Grouard
