ARDN is looking for 10-15 communities who are interested in joining a second coordinated effort to map out homelessness in rural Alberta.
This project follows the pilot project held in fall 2018. This estimation will take place in fall 2020 and will implement the methods outlined in the second version of ARDN's Step-by-Step Guide to Estimating Rural Homelessness Guide.
Successful applicants will be required to participate in pre-estimation preparation and to attend mandatory training sessions. There will also be an expectation regarding reporting requirements following the estimation process.
Some funding is available for organizations who may need additional assistance to participate in this project. The deadline to apply has been extended to Tuesday, June 30th at 11:59 PM MDT.
Things to note:
About the Project: The Expression of Interest is currently open to any rural municipality/not-for profit organization across the country. There is no cost to join, and we will be selecting 10-15 communities to receive up to $2,000 to assist in project costs.
About the Process: The estimation process coordinates a network of partner organizations to administer surveys to their clients over a 30-day period. Participating communities will receive a customized report for their community which details housing and service needs of participating residents. In addition, communities will be added to a provincial report and an interactive database where groups can access credible, research-based data on rural homelessness.
More information: Although we are unable to fund every single group that applies to us for funding, we still invite groups to participate to get access to ARDN's data analysts and reports. Applicants can expect to hear back from the ARDN no later than July 7th, 2020
